Q
What are the definitions of the “Green Zone,” “Gray Zone,” and “White Zone” in AI Data Centers (AIDC)? What are the corresponding architectures, products, and service solutions?
A
Based on deployment area and value delivered, data center application scenarios are divided into three spaces—Green, Gray, and White.
EnerAI focuses on AI data centers, providing power supply products and distribution solutions and services from energy to chip. We have mature products and solutions tailored to the specific characteristics of each of these three Zones,For example, the Green Zone enables multi-energy complementarity, utilizing various renewable energy products (such as solar and wind power) to feed green power into data centers; the Gray Zone adopts system power supply such as solid state transformers (SST) , HVDC, as well as backup power products to power AI loads and smooth out dynamic transients; the White Zone utilizes more efficient, higher power-density rack & onboard power supplies to deliver energy-to-chip power chain solutions across all scenarios.

Q
What is a Solid State Transformer(SST)?
A
Solid state transformers are power supply system featuring medium-voltage direct connection, high frequency, and power electronics design, with high-voltage DC output. They encompass the traditional data center power supply and distribution architecture, including medium-voltage distribution, power frequency transformers, low-voltage distribution, UPS systems, etc.

Q
Has SST entered mass production?
A
The 10 kV (compatible with 13.8kV in North America) SST has now been officially launched. It is available for sales upon launch and can be delivered at scale right away; production and delivery are currently underway for several projects that have already been awarded contracts.

Q
Why 800V DC architecture is chosen for the SST output?
A
With the explosive growth of AI applications, the power supply infrastructure in data centers has undergone significant changes; power density has surged dramatically, amplifying the limitations of traditional power distribution architectures. High voltage and DC configurations in the power supply terminal are gaining the industry consensus, on which SST came into existence.
The adoption of 800V architecture is based on technical feasibility, supply chain maturity, and application scenarios, etc. Equipped with intelligent adjustment output port, SST technology will aim for the higher DC voltage levels in the future (such as 1500V), as the data center industry continues to evolve and power density continues to rise.

Q
What are the advantages of SST compared to traditional AC power supply and HVDC solutions for white-zone retrofits?
A
The SST is an intelligent power system. Through medium-voltage direct connection and high-frequency design, it significantly reduces the footprint; its integrated design enables one-stop, agile delivery; and single-stage conversion improves the efficiency of the power supply and distribution chain. In addition, SST features intelligent output control and multi-port power routing capabilities.

Q
Why is it said that SST can improve system efficiency compared to a conventional AC power supply architecture?
A
SST is an intelligent power supply system featuring medium-voltage direct connection, high-frequency operation, and power electronics design, with a high-voltage DC output. Its functions encompass the traditional data center power supply and distribution architecture, including medium-voltage distribution, power frequency transformer, low-voltage distribution, UPS, etc.
Based on the peak efficiency calculated for a traditional architecture, 99.99% for power-frequency medium-voltage distribution, 99.99% for transformers, 99.99% for low-voltage distribution, and 97% for dual-conversion UPS. Therefore, the maximum efficiency of the entire system is 96.7%; the SST system can achieve a peak efficiency of 98.5%, achieving real energy-saving benefits.
